By a vote of 25-7, the league just passed a resolution that will allow the defense to have player-to-sideline communication.
The proposal's been close to passing in previous years - last year it missed passing by just two votes - but the Patriots Spy Games of last September no doubt helped ease this thing from becoming an almost law to a real law.
There will now be two designated defensive players who will have receivers in their helmets to pick up defensive signals from the sidelines. Only one player can be on the field with the receiver at a time so each designated player will need a backup helmet that is sans receiver.
