Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb said Wednesday that coach Andy Reid assured him the rumors the team would trade McNabb before the NFL Draft had no merit, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
“Andy has addressed that to me and let me know that he would never let me go anywhere,” McNabb said during a radio interview. “You know, that kind of promise provided confidence in him, but it wasn’t like I was looking to head anywhere unless I was told otherwise.”
McNabb also said that during conditioning workouts in Philadelphia, his reconstructed knee is feeling much stronger than last season.
“The way that I continue to approach this thing is to see myself wearing nothing but green,” McNabb said. “We’re going to continue to get stronger as the team continues to build, and we look good to put a good showing on the football field.”
