what are you opinions on immigrients who come to amreica looking for a better way if life and then refusing to adhere to life in the states I mean like i have this sister in law who wants to be here but she is always putting our way of life down and refuses to even budge at all when it come to any thing american so i ask her if your country was so great then why did you leave it ?

I SAY AT LEAST LEARN THE LANGUAGE ENOUGH SO YOU CAN SHOP WITHOUT PROBLEMS AND ASK FOR WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Oh America the great melting pot! This nation is what it is because of the many diverse people who live here. That is one of many reasons that we are as wonderful as we are... we have the right to live here and still practice our culture, religion, etc from our native lands. I think that is wonderful!
As usual, now for the flipside... I think everyone should have to follow the same rules in coming here. I dont care if you are a citizen... but be here legally. We let almost everyone in! If you come here, please learn the language. Speak what you want at home as I am very big into keeping those roots to your country, but be able to ask where a bathroom is when you are in public. You should abide by ALL of the laws here as I would do if I ever moved to any other country. Yes, everyone is free here in this great land but our laws are different from other countries and it IS NOT our right to break them as we wish.
A scenario in illegally coming here... not my own but it is beautiful~ If a new neighbor moved into your neighborhood and came over to your door, introduced himself, told you a little about his family, where the kids are going to be going to school, where he got a new job at etc, and then stated that they needed a cup of sugar, you would typically give it to him right? If you had the cup of sugar to give... most people would not even expect anything in return... However, if that same neighbor moved in and did not come and introduce himself... he waited until you were asleep and broke into your house and got a cup of sugar, it is a different story. It is still just a cup of sugar and one we would have given anyways... but get the sugar properly...

I think that if you are coming to america to live then you must abide by the rules and not have us do everything for you and feel sorry for you because you cant get a job or food to eat. If you come over be prepared to work or go back to your own country.

this is AMERICA. If you came here from another country, it was probably for a reason. We are not asking you to abandon your personallity or to forget where you came from. But I do NOT think that immigrants have the right to come in and change our country. We are the country we are BECAUSE of the differences as well as the fact that we are AMERICA. We are still a single country. I believe that every immigrant should learn English for the sake of being able to function within our country. That does not mean that I think that they can't use thier own language when ever and where ever they want. We have the Freedom of religion, and we need to keep it that way.
I am very proud of the country I live in, flaws and all. I know that we aren't a perfect country, but it is our country and I do agree that if you don't like it you should leave.
Our differences make us rich in culture and it a wonderful thing, but shouldnt' be the thing that tears us apart.
