Gas price is continuously increasing right now. Which one you preferred, step by step increase ( Weekly ) or Bulk increase ( One time )?

I'll go with a step by step increase since I can save from it compared to one time increase.

Christy stepped through my back door two Julys ago.  She walked into the house like she had climbed out of a poster in my high school bedroom. Past fashionably late, she had given me way too much time to sit and drink, and I knew it would be hard not to make an ass out of myself.

Goodell, owners discuss adding 17th game

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has an idea to combat the declining interest in the NFL preseason: a 17th regular season game.

Goodell broached the subject at the owners' meeting on Tuesday in Atlanta. The basic premise would be to eliminate one preseason game, bringing that number down to three, and add on one regular season game.

Cowboys ink Barber, Newman thru 2014

The Dallas Cowboys signed running back Marion Barber and cornerback Terence Newman to long-term extensions Tuesday, just in time to beat a deadline that would've changed how the money is spread over the salary cap.

It wasn't cheap, though, costing Jerry Jones roughly $95 million.

At least he knows he'll have both players through 2014.

Newman's deal is a six-year extension to the final year left on his initial contract. It's worth more than $50 million, with a $12 million signing bonus and $22.5 million guaranteed over the first three years.

Falcons sign Ryan to 6-year, $72M deal

For the second time in eight years, the Atlanta Falcons opened the vault and dropped a ton of cash on a franchise quarterback.

Matt Ryan, the No. 3 pick in last month's draft, signed a $72 million, six-year contract Tuesday. The announcement of the new deal came with smiles, confident talk of the future and no mention of Michael Vick, the first pick in 2001 who signed a $130 million extension, the richest in the league at the time, in December 2005.

Eli's Triumphant Return

When Giants fans at the Meadowlands last had a crack at Eli Manning, the doe-eyed one was breaking their hearts in the nicest way possible once again.

That was Dec. 29, the Saturday night New York blew a 12-point third quarter lead and got blitzed by a 22-0 run by New England in a 38-35 loss. The Pats were perfect. The Giants were promising but flawed.

Defensive Head Set Rule Passes

By a vote of 25-7, the league just passed a resolution that will allow the defense to have player-to-sideline communication.

The proposal's been close to passing in previous years - last year it missed passing by just two votes - but the Patriots Spy Games of last September no doubt helped ease this thing from becoming an almost law to a real law.

Relaxed Belichick Meets the Press

He knew what the masses were massed for. So Bill Belichick opted to crack wise at the annual coaches breakfast at the NFL Owners Meetings here at The Breakers.

"Want to talk about the force-out rule," Belichick asked as he settled in for what ended up being an hour-long session with the media.

Posted in:

PALM BEACH - If a receiver jumps to catch a pass and gets shoved out of bounds before landing, call that man out of bounds. The league's 32 teams today voted to do away with the forceout rule, one that many believed was too subjective to call properly.

Other changes that passed include ...

1) The ability to use replay to review field goal attempts and illegal forward handoffs

2) The ability of the team that wins the coin toss to defer to the second half and then have the option to kick or receive.

Reid assures McNabb he won't be traded

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb said Wednesday that coach Andy Reid assured him the rumors the team would trade McNabb before the NFL Draft had no merit, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

“Andy has addressed that to me and let me know that he would never let me go anywhere,” McNabb said during a radio interview. “You know, that kind of promise provided confidence in him, but it wasn’t like I was looking to head anywhere unless I was told otherwise.”

The agent in question, Bus Cook, was tracked down by Times' writer Sam Farmer and said that news of his making inquiries was, well, news to him.

"He's retired, period, point blank," said Cook.
