Many of do not get enough Vitamin D, either from fear of being out in the sun or not enough in the foods we eat. I have not had the flu in about 6 years, I never get a flu shot, I never get a cold, ear ache, sniffles, etc.
Avoiding sugar, high fructose corn syrup (another thing to discuss) and eating plenty of veggies and proteins, nuts, and avoiding too many low/no fiber grains, is key, too

Children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, "Take only one, God is watching."
At the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. Moving through the line a boy wrote another note to leave by the cookies, "Take all you want, God is watching the apples."

2. One that refuses to abide by the dictates of or resists adherence to a group; a dissenter.

I recently read that love is entirely a matter of chemistry.
That must be why my wife treats me like toxic waste.

A man was walking in the street when he heard a voice: "Stop! Stand still! If you take one more step, a brick will fall down on your head and kill you." The man stopped and a big brick fell right in front of him. The man was astonished. He went on, and after awhile he was going to cross the road. Once again the voice shouted: "Stop! Stand still! If you take one more step a car will run over you and you will die." The man did as he was instructed, and a car came careening around the corner, barely missing him. "Where are you?" the man asked.

Walking by, a minister saw his 5-year-old son and playmates find a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, the children had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: "Glory be unto the Faaaather, and unto the Sonnn... and into the hole he gooooes."

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. So he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES." When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note: "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket, I'll lose my job. LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION."

A couple had two little boys who were always getting into trouble. Their parents knew that if any mischief occurred in their village, their sons were probably involved.
The boys' mother heard that an elder in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her sons. The elder agreed, but asked to see them separately.

Unbelievable!I also looked on Snopes and typed in hairbands and it did come out stating it was a true story. I would never have thought of that..
GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I catch your attention?
Well, this "upstanding man" who is the epitome of the family man has a secret, sort of.
Mr. McCain likes to tell you that he has great moral fiber, that is an honest and upstanding family man with ethics. Here is some interesting facts, about his first wife.
While he was in prison camp in Hanoi, he dreamed of returning home to his lovely wife..... CAROL (not Cindy). What he found out, when he returned home from Vietnam, was that his lovely wife had been in a terrible accident that left her disfigured.
My husband and I have been
watching some biographies on TV of many great singers of all genres
such a Luciano Pavarotti, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash.
I love many singers but my favorites are (in no particular order):
Luciano Pavarotti - opera - this man, in my opinion, is the greatest opera singer to ever grace the face of the earth.
Josh Groban - contemporary - his deep, easy, rich tones are so
beautiful. The first time I heard him on the radio, I was in love with
his voice.

My friend emailed me this
today and with a large, national election looming in the USA, I thought
that this was a good thing to post...
This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago.
Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.
The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed
nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for
the vote.
Things happen only in America...
1. Only in America......can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
2. Only in America......are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.
3. Only in America......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to
the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people
can buy cigarettes at the front.
4. Only in America......do people order double cheese burgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Gas price is continuously increasing right now. Which one you preferred, step by step increase ( Weekly ) or Bulk increase ( One time )?
I'll go with a step by step increase since I can save from it compared to one time increase.

Less than 20 percent of the 100-130 million unwanted cell phones get recycled when their owners buy shiny new ones. Save enerby recovervaluable materials, and reduce the amount of heavy metals that leach out of landfills by recycling old mobile phones at theses retail stores: AT&T Wireless, Best Buy, LG Electronics, Office Depot, Sony Ericsson, Sprint, Staples, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. I didn't know there were so many places I could go to take my throw away electronic until I joined Save the Earth 2008.
FOR four centuries, from the arrival of the first Blacks in English America in 1619 to the hip-hops of the Millennium, African-Americans have dominated American music and dance. Black music, in fact, is America's only original music, and the Spirituals-Blues-Jazz-Gospel-Charleston-Twist-Hip Hop gift is the foundation not only of rhythm and blues but also of Broadway, the Grammys and Elvis et al.

I heard Eric Hoag talking on the radio the other day, that these stores that sell canvas bags for about a buck is in it for the profit, not so much as for saving the Earth. It seems we would be better off recycling plastic bags because they can be reused 100%, and take less resources than the canvas bags or paper ones. The only thing is that paper bags cost us trees. But I was really surprised to hear this view.
Those curly-q looking light bulbs that save energy -- well caution. They contain mercury which is poisonous if dropped. Don't drop them.

Sprinkle them in your plants and what's left, sprinkle on your lawn. Reduces garbage and helps fertilize the soil.
Reuse everything yhou can. It saves energy, resources and raw materials. Okay, how about decorating cereal or cracker boxes for file boxes for recipes, letters, magazines. Don't forget egg cartons, they make good organizers for small items in workshop or office.
Have you noticed that Walgreens is now selling green cotton bags to put your stuff in after you shop. They are quite colorful and eliminates the need to use plastic bags. They are small enough so that I can purchase one .99 and always carry it with me for packaging.
Which do you think is better - bottled or tap water? Some environmentalists say, tap water is just as good if not better than bottled because it must meet tougher safety standards. Also all of the packaging for bottles is bad for the environment. They claim that it even tastes better. So . . . . .
Maybe your favorite supermarket has already switched to certain grocery bags. Which do you prefer - paper, plastic, specifically recycable-reusable?
This weekend, San Francisco will have an hour of darkness, Saturday night in an effort to save energy, and preserve the Earth. The man who came up with the idea used to be the spokesman for Google, and saw this done in Europe. He wanted to try it hear, so SF. Maybe many other cities will copy. Peace!!
Hey, have you heard? Al Gore won the Nobel prize for his work on saving the environment. Maybe we could have a party of sorts - Planet Earth Nobel Prize party and celebrate something!! . . . Inconvenient Truth, . . . I'm awe struck by the film.
I knew it. The Earth's resources are limited and now the news stories are that San Jose is planning to recyle sewage water to send through taps. I do not want to drink treated sewage water, no matter how much they treated it.
What do the worms you keep in a worm box eat every day? They eat all sorts of food scraps from potato peels to pancakes and turn it into compost. Worms are the best composters in the world.
What can you do with a yogurt container once it's empty? After you're finished off the ice cream . . . when the yogurt is gone . . . when there's no cottage cheese left . . . what do you have? Dirty dishes: Maybe. You may also have a few reusable plastic containers. Perfect for storing stuff.
Hi LiL_T. Welcome to the group about planet Earth and planet Pluto. Who do you think should be sent away to Pluto because of their harm to the Earth. I say Bush, with all of his staying in Iraq, and keeping our troups over there. Click me on your buddy list, and then I can post on your page.
Send Bush to Pluto cause he is obsessed with Iraq, oil and staying the course, that he is not working with Al Gore at all on saving the planet.
One focus I'll have for this week to benefit the earth is to try to recycle more of those many papers at work, instead of tossing in the trash. I already have some ideas about who should be sent as far away from earth as possible becasue of their harmful to the environment ways, I'll just continue my list.
This group is for anyone concerned with preserving the environment through direct actions, things we can do at home like composting, recycling, attending the Echo Festival in October, in Atlanta, making recommendations about which government officials and others should be sent to Pluto, the planet furthest away from earth due to their harmful to the environment practices.
